No time

Hey everyone! :)

Sadly I didn't have much time to write something in the last week. My husband had some free days over eastern and we made stuff together. So I stopped working and so on for one week. :3

Now I am back.

 Today I finished this big, super fluffy bunny. It has such a soft fur and nice colours. Put it up for sale on Deviantart and Etsy

 I hope he/she finds a new home quickly.

 I also finished my young red fox soft mount. There were plenty of people interested in it. I am curious how fast he will be sold. I love the white tail tip and the blue eyes. And he looks like a little rascal. Haha.

 
This bunny is a work in progress shot. It's a pure black bunny and the customer wanted pure red eyes on it. Because she also has a black fox and that one has red eyes too and she wanted both to fit together. It looks kinda creepy but also cool and unique. 

 Last week we were at my Dad's place and my husband wanted to work on his new car a little. And while I was bored I started cuddling with the cats that run around the house of my dad. They belong to the neighbours and are always outside. They're really pretty boys and very kind.

 I changed my hair colour again. Now I have some kind of amber coloured hair. I really like it. I just bleached my dark brown hair and it tunred out like this. :3

Car day

Yay, the big day has finally come. Today we'll get our new car (I mentioned it in my ladt post!) and I am very excited. My husband will fetch me after his work and then we'll fetch the car and make a little trip to the city to see how it is *^*

Today I feel a little sick :<

I am sneezing more often then normal and my stomache hurts...I don't know something's not right today u__u'

Anyways, I softened the raccoon pup today and took some photos:

  

He's such a cutie-pie! Like a little bandit. He has such a cute, short tail :3

And I also started working on that monster bunny with the two-face.

I really really love the colours and the long fur. This bunny really has the longest fur of all bunnies I ever had in my life. So awesome! 

So cute! <3

But it's still a work in progress of course. I need to put some clay into the ears to keep them in shape and also put some wires into them. And I will constantly watch him cause when the clay and the skin dries it can change its shape pretty much. That's why you have to check a mount pretty often. :>

It's raining all day long here. :< I really need some sunlight, buhuhu~

The weather really gets me depressed. I am sooo much looking forward to summer starting again so I can wear open shoes again :3

Not motivated.

Today I wasn't motivated at all :< Somehow I was tired and felt bad.
The only thing I did was taking the big white/grey bunny and the raccoon puppy out of the tanning solution.

 

This one will become the most fluffiest and biggest bunny soft mount I ever made. It has an awesome coloration and super soft fur. I am very excited to mount it. :>

I took them out of the tanning, washed them again and then blow dried the fur a little before I applied the softening oil onto the flesh side. Now they're both hanging in my working room for drying. It takes soooo long when it's  cold outside until they're ready for being softened. :<

I am also very excited for this week because on wednesday we will get our new car.

Yes...my husband bought a completely new one :]

But that one is 12 years old now and it's falling apart every day a little more |D so it was definately time for a new one.

Young fox and wallaby skull

Today I softened the young fox and dried his fur so I could take some new pictures. The first pictures I took were of the raw pelt and the whole fur was so dirty, haha. 

So this is the cute guy:

 

He has such a cute face and the fur is really soft. And I love that cute dark tail with the white tail tip :3 

I ordered his eyes yesterday and the shop owner called me today and said he will send the eyes and the other stuff I ordered next week. So I can start mounting him very soon :) He will get very awesome looking blue/grey eyes.

Then I started cleaning the red-neck wallaby skull today. I had a little chlorine bleaching accident yesterday and then I had to stop working in my working room cause it smelled like a  big fun bath. :<

It's only 15cm long. When I think about how big the wallaby was it's really a small skull :o

 

It lost some teeth during lifetime since it was a very old male and it died of senility. However it's still a very unique skull to own :)

And then I skinned this awesome bunny today. It's such a BIG one, haha. And it has increadibly soft and long and thick fur. I've never had such a bunny. It's not an angora bunny. I love white coloration with another additional colour, that's just super cute :3

 

One ear is completely white and the other one is grey/black spotted. And this super cute grey tail *__* omg, this will be such an awesome soft mount.

Sale list and turned fox

Today I started working again a little. Though after cleaning the corridor in our house and making some laundry my foot hurt again pretty much :<
But I can't sit around any longer without doing anything. I did that more than a week now and I am totally bored sitting on the couch doing nothing :S

I started with taking out the red fox puppy out of the tanning solution and washing it. I took out the raccoon puppy too yesterday for being defrosted and washed it toegther with the fox pup then.
After drying the fox pup a little I turned it completely to put on the softening oil onto the skin side.
If anybody of you never saw how it looks when a skin is turned completely the other way around, here are some pictures I took for you.
It looks pretty strange, haha, but I am used to that look. It's also kind of funny how it looks!

This is the fox pup turned around (tail is put under the skin) 

     

Close up of the head. You can see the turned ears pretty good here.

When you turn the front of the head around you see there's the nose and mouth.

Hope that helps you guys a little too see how it works with the skins :)

Then I started photographing everything that I want to sell. There are so many things lying around in my working room that I really don't need. And maybe someone else has fun with it or needs it.

The new blog

So, this is it now. My new blog. I am highly motivated to keep this up to date for as long as I can ;)
I would like to write everything about my day, life and my work of course. I will be keeping this in english because so many people from the internet that I got to know are from foreign countries and it's pretty much easier for them to understand then, if they decide to follow my blog. And I am not really in the mood to write everything in english AND german. ;)

So, how can I start?
First thing for the people who may be reading this and not knowing me: I am a self-employed, licensed taxidermist from Germany. I focus my work on mammals of every kind. But mostly the ones with fur and paws.  
So if you don't like taxidermy or have no clue about it and just want to blame me for something that I am not you should leave now :)

At the moment I can't really work because I am some kind of injured. :/
I got my feet tattooed about 1 week ago with this beautiful image:

  
 And somehow my right foot (the one with the fox) got infected and has a big inflammation now that keeps me from standing or walking around. It's pretty painful. But it's not that swollen anymore and I think it's going to get better already, since I cool it for 3 days and use some unction against the infection. Hope I can walk again tomorrow. For today I have to keep resting and waiting.
This is what it looks like at the moment, cooling cooling cooling so the inflammation has no chance, hehe. 

But other than that I love my new tattoo, the fox and the deer are just perfect and also fit perfectly to me. I just love animals and planning to get more animal-tattoos in the future. You should also check out the wonderful Carina from Bodyscript Tattoo who made this wonderful tattoo for me. I got it at the Urban Ink Fest in Gent, Belgium on March 3rd 2013.

For now I have to lie on the couch and my cat Vita helps me to get better. Though actually she's just hanging like a  sack on my arms not doing anything at all, haha :D

I think that's it for my first post. When I am back at work it will probably get more interesting and exciting :)
